AUTOMATIC SYSTEM OF MAINTENANCE ROADS
An automatic system for optimal maintenance of road surfaces according to weather conditions- Snow Removal, Washing, Cooling, Disinfection (DSRD) is created to streamline the removal of snow removal, washing, cooling, disinfection and other measures on areas of public roads where it is located. The system is connected to the SERVER which is configured to become the central element of the automatic maintenance system – DSRD.
Thus, the SERVER sends the commands to the DRSD maintenance system, to determine its start or stop, depending on the existing data and the preset conditions.
I. TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES
1. The action of snow removal and thawing
a. Making the snow removal activity of the road surfaces more efficient (lower cost), maintaining them in the best possible condition for the traffic.
b. Timely intervention in case of low temperatures, and consequently laying anti-skid material before the occurrence of frost, frost, snow, blizzard, etc., as well as during these phenomena.
c. The system is completely automatized.
d. Disposal of solid non-slip material.
e. Elimination of downtime in the application of anti-skid material.
f. Elimination of transport and laying of the material with machines or manual.
g. Elimination of the need to sweep the non-slip material (sand, stone) from the road.
h. Control and monitoring of the quantities of materials used in carrying out the activities.
2. Washing and cooling action
a. The cooling of the road and implicitly the decrease of the temperature felt during the summer.
b. Maintaining the road in optimal running parameters in the case of road sectors for heavy traffic, roundabouts, curved road segments (avoid the destruction of the asphalt carpet in case of turns)
c. Automation of road washing, without using auxiliary equipment and personnel.
d. During summertime, two advantages can be obtained, namely through a single application we can achieve both washing and cooling the road.
II. ECONOMIC ADVANTAGES
1. The action of snow removal and thawing
a. Reducing snow removal costs through the efficient and controlled use of the non-slip material used.
b. Reduction of material transport costs.
c. Reducing the costs of laying non-slip material.
d. Elimination of the costs of cleaning the non-slip material left on the side of the road.
e. By taking timely action to prevent and combat frost and snow, material damage to road users can be avoided by reducing the number of road accident cases.
f. Elimination of parking times and expenses with the equipment and their personnel during the winter
2. Washing and cooling action
a) Reducing the costs of washing the road by using an optimal amount, avoiding losses.
b) Reduction of costs generated by mechanized washing.
III. ECOLOGICAL ADVANTAGES
1. The action of snow removal and thawing
a. Elimination of NoX emissions from machinery used in the transport and laying of solid anti-skid material;
b. Reducing the emissions emitted by cars in case of heavy traffic due to snow deposits, icing, etc.
c. Use of environmentally friendly solutions.
d. Reduction of dust resulting from the use of classical methods, dust brought by wind or vehicles on the road
e. Reducing body corrosion due to salt currently used Positive impact on the environment (vegetation, animals, people)
f. This system can also come with the following upgrades:
– Creation of buffer tanks that can be used for irrigation
– these buffer tanks can help the environment through the development of plants (through humidity) on the side of the roads, which also helps to reduce pollution as well as creating a barrier that stops toxicity to the population.
– Creation of buffer tanks that can be used to extinguish fires
– Realization of water removal updates in case of heavy rains, floods
IV. SOCIAL BENEFITS
1. The action of snow removal
a. By acting in time with anti-skid material, a series of road accidents can be avoided, thus reducing the risk of personal injury or even death of road users;
b. High flow traffic on the segments where this system is implemented.
2. Washing and cooling action
a. Creating thermal comfort felt by the citizen by cooling the road
3. Disinfection
a. Disinfection of tires, roads, pedestrian footwear in case of epidemics, pandemics Delimitation and isolation of certain areas of outbreak, pandemic action.
ACTIONS
a) Snow removal and prevention of icing
The role of this action is to prevent snow deposits and/or icing on the road sections on which the AUTOMATIC MAINTENANCE SYSTEM – DSRD is located.
The severe weather warning system receives the warning and the snow type code, gives the command via the communicator in the pumping group to pump anti-skid material over the entire section. The role of this system is to prevent snow from falling on the segments of public roads where it is located. The anti-skid material is sprayed over the entire public road surface by nozzles, a component of the system. Depending on the color of the warning code, the amount of precipitation is also indicated. The system will have time and duration of operation set according to the warning code. This setting of the system according to the warning code will pre-emptively prevent the road from being snowed on, thus avoiding snow and streamlining road traffic, reducing the risk of accidents and traffic jams. At the same time, it is possible to intervene in cold weather to prevent ice forming on the roads. At a preset threshold, the system starts distributing the materials. At a certain preset threshold, the system starts distributing material to prevent ice. The same can be done in blizzard conditions, where the system acts to melt windblown snow on the roads.
b) Washing The role of this action is to wash and clean the roads when necessary. This action can be established and communicated by the road administrator where the automatic optimal maintenance system – DSRD is implemented. It is possible to intervene in the automated washing of the road in case of need. The situations being established by the administrator of the public or private road where this system is implemented. The solution used to wash the road is also established by the administrator of this road segment.
c) Cooling The role of this action is to cool the roads in the hot days of the year. As in the case of preventing the formation of icing, the system uses through the server the data collected from each individual location and can operate the section or sections related to each METEO system. Starting parameters can be preset according to the needs and requests of the road administrator. This can maintain an optimum temperature on the tread and prevent damage.
d) Disinfection The role of this action is to disinfect public or private roads at the request of local or central authorities in case of epidemics and pandemics. It aims to prevent the spread of pathogens on the road. By using the DSRD system, various chemicals are distributed with a role in eradicating these pathogens and disinfecting the tires. This system can also be used to disinfect pedestrian shoes when crossing.
